Dr. Coker has worked in the field of brain injury (BI) and traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) research since 1997. She obtained a Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in May 2001, where she won the James W Alley Award for Outstanding Service to Disadvantaged Populations, and a Doctorate in Clinical Sciences from the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus in 2020. She has presented research at national professional conferences and has won several awards for research presentations and publications. She has been a researcher at Craig Hospital since April 2012 and is principal investigator for a number of projects. Dr Coker’s primary research interests are in complementary and integrative healthcare approaches after injury and the impact of oral health on overall health after injury. Dr Coker currently serves as Chair of the CO BI Trust Fund Board.
